Willem Veltman, 25-11-1975
Willem lives together with his wife Linda in Voerendaal, in the south of beautiful Limburg. Willem works as a truck mechanic with Loven Trucks based in Heerlen.
His first car was a Vauxhall Nova in which he drove in 1995 in division 2A. With a small van and trailer they went to the races of the Dutch and Belgian Championships. A year later he switched to a Suzuki Swift and in 1997 he started with Citroën. Two Citroëns were bought an AX GTI's and a Citroën BX. In 1999 Willem became International Belgian Rallycross Champion with his AX GTI. A year later he started as well in Group N with the new Citroën ZX 2.0 16V.
In 2003 a new car was prepared. A totally new built Saxo 1,6 16v in which Willem competed in Division 1A and Division 2. At the end of that year a new Citroen Saxo is built for racing on the regular tracks like Zolder in Belgium where he competes in the Sprinters Cup. With the Citroen Saxo he competes in the Dutch and Belgium Rallycross Championships. Last season he competed with a Citroen C2 and had a good season in Belgium and Holland and finished in 4th position in both Championships. In 2009 Willem will again compete in both Championships in the C2 and hopes to have another successful season.
Elly Veltman, 29-03-1954
Our well known, always friendly and smiling, host, married to Wim Veltman.
Also Elly has a long list of starts and cars behind her name. At first she started in 1996 in a Vauxhall Nova to race in the Rallycross Championship in Division 2A. Indeed against her son Willem.
The Citroën AX GTI was next, in 1998 she started with this car in the Dutch, Belgian and some European Rallycross Championship races. In 2000 Elly stops with the Rallycross.
However in 2003 she starts again in the Sprinters Cup at Circuit Zolder with her AX.
This upcoming year Elly will start again in the Sprinters Cup but this time with a Citroën C3.
